The 3rd edition of the Chantal Biya International Mountain Bike Race will be held on August 7th and 8th, 2026, in Bagofit, located in the East Region of Cameroon. This international sporting event, promoted by Joseph Lé, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, is gaining momentum and establishing itself as a major event on the Cameroonian sporting calendar, as well as a driver of development for the region.

The press conference on May 26, 2026, in Douala revealed the details of this edition. The competition will welcome riders from Africa and Europe, who will compete at the Bagofit Sun City complex. The Cameroonian Cycling Federation (FÉCACYCLISME), under the leadership of its president Honoré Yossi, expects the participation of 120 riders from 30 countries. Among the nations expected are France, Burkina Faso, Switzerland, Egypt, Morocco, Eritrea, and the Central African Republic.

The competitions will take place in the women's, junior, and senior categories, with financial rewards for the best performers. A "prestige" race is also planned, open to anyone who owns a bicycle and is in good health, according to Honoré Yossi. Participants will be able to enjoy a quality circuit, considered the best in Africa for mountain biking by the president of FÉCACYCLISME.

The 2026 edition of the Chantal Biya International Mountain Bike Race is not limited to sports competition. It revolves around an innovative concept combining elite sport with Bagofit International Business Week, which will include a trade fair and the East Region Investment Forum. This economic week will be an opportunity to showcase the economic, tourism and cultural potential of the East Region.

In accordance with the values of solidarity advocated by the event's patron, Chantal Biya, the race will be accompanied by health campaigns, donations to vulnerable populations and local development initiatives. Joseph Lé emphasizes that this event, which started modestly, has become a credible and internationally recognized sporting reference.

Bagofit Sun City, located 700 meters above sea level in the heart of the equatorial forest, is a tourist, sports and agro-pastoral complex. Formerly operated by a French logging company, the site was taken over by Joseph Lé to create a place of relaxation and leisure that contributes to the economy and tourism of the East Region.

The event is on the calendar of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). An international South African commissioner will supervise the competition. The Chantal Biya Mountain Bike Race is more than just a sporting competition; it is a celebration of sportsmanship and regional development.
