Cameroon News

The Cameroonian startup FarmEase has launched a mobile application aimed at livestock farmers, agriculturalists, and cooperatives in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the diaspora looking to secure their agricultural investments in Cameroon. The application aims to transform traditional agricultural holdings into structured and formal enterprises, with transparent financial management.

The FarmEase application allows farmers to record key information daily directly from their smartphones, including vaccinations, production (eggs, milk, etc.), livestock mortality, feed, sales, and equipment purchases. This data is then processed and presented in the form of dashboards, allowing users to track the profitability of their farm, identify areas for improvement, and generate financial reports compliant with OHADA standards. The application also allows for the management of multiple farms from a single account.

By automatically synchronizing data to the cloud, FarmEase eliminates the risk of data loss associated with traditional agricultural management methods, such as paper records or data stored on mobile devices. The application ensures permanent access to the complete history of the farm, regardless of the device used. It covers various sectors, including broiler farming, laying hens, goats, cattle, pigs, and sheep, with a plant production module under development. Each sector has its own operational monitoring dashboard.

FarmEase distinguishes itself from other agritech solutions by focusing on the internal management of agricultural holdings, an aspect often neglected on the African continent. The application is designed to work offline, an essential feature in rural areas where connectivity is limited. It offers different subscription levels, starting from 2,000 FCFA per month, adapted to small, medium, and large farms. A referral program also encourages word-of-mouth within agricultural communities.

The management of FarmEase aims to transform farmers into bankable entrepreneurs through the valorization of their data. The application is available for free download on the Google Play Store and will soon be available on the Apple App Store. This initiative is part of the digital transformation of agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa, where digital technologies offer considerable potential to improve productivity, access to markets, and resilience to climate challenges. Many features and events are planned throughout the year 2026.
