A complaint has been filed with the Judicial Police Department in Yaoundé against Thomas Owona Assoumou, General Manager of Aéroports du Cameroun (ADC), following the alleged disappearance of 400 million FCFA. The information was made public on May 8, 2026.

The complainant, who identifies himself as a butler at Mr. Owona Assoumou's home, claims he was accused after reporting the theft. He reports being held against his will for several days before being transferred to a unit of the Special Operations Group (GSO). There, he allegedly suffered pressure to confess to a crime he denies committing.

According to his complaint, there was tension within the household, particularly regarding the video surveillance system. Some cameras were allegedly disconnected before the money disappeared. The complainant believes he was the victim of arbitrary arrest and slanderous denunciation. He is asking for a judicial procedure to be opened to shed light on this matter.

The case raises questions about the origin of the funds and the ethics of senior officials. The investigation will have to determine whether the financial rules in force have been respected, particularly with regard to the banking of financial flows and the fight against money laundering.

To date, neither Thomas Owona Assoumou nor ADC have officially responded to these accusations. Aéroports du Cameroun (ADC) is a public limited company responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and development of Cameroon's seven airports.
