According to Nation Foot Mali, Song, who has been free since leaving Cameroon in 2024, is on the list of potential candidates to succeed Tom Saintfiet, who recently resigned from his position.
Rigobert Song's name has been circulating recently, as the Malian national team is in a period of transition. After his time as head of the Indomitable Lions, Song is once again positioning himself in the coach market, awaiting a potential new opportunity on the continent. As a player, Rigobert Song played in a record eight Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and captained in five. He won two AFCON titles in 2000 and 2002. He also holds the record for the most caps for the Cameroon national team, with 137 appearances.
